Beard
Al Salamu 3alaykom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh ..
Is it obligatory for the man to let his beard grows up?
Many Muslim people keep on saying that it is from Sunnah. Alright, it is sunnah, but let me ask this question; is Sunnah for reading only without applying it. Aren’t we called Sunni people!! Aren’t we encouraging and advising them to follow what came in Sunnah, what the Prophet Mohammad Salla Allahu 3alayh Wa Salam came with! How can we do that while we are not following it!!
We know some of what came in Sunnah is not required to do, but it’s great to do it and follow the Imam of all prophets. So for those who say that not shaving the beard is just something not compulsory, I say you are totally wrong. We are commanded when the prophet 3alayh el Salat wal Salam said let your beards grow in the following hadeeth:-
قال عليه الصلاة و السلام: أعفوا اللحى و في رواية أخرى أرخوا اللحى وحفوا الشوارب و لا تتشبهوا بالمجوس
Also it was told about him when he met some guys from Al Fors, he saw them beardless, and they claimed that they were asked by their God to do so, they used to consider their king as God, but Mohammad 3alayh el Salat wal Salam said, but Allah ordered me to keep my beard, as we know, the only God is ALLAH Sub7anah wa ta3ala.

wa 3alaikoum isallam wa rahmat ALlah wa barakatuh..
mmmm.. I have a question..
how come some mashayikh of al azhar don't have beards?
oh and btw..
alot of ppl I know make fun of men who have beards .. ALlah yihdeehoum..
Yzak ALlah khair brother for this topic although it's for men ..
candle of hope
well, beleive me not all mashayikh can be trusted and not all of them are right, some of them as I said they just consider it from Sunnah without the obligation of doing it which is wrong, although it's mentioned by el rasool 3alaih el 9alat wal Salam that we have to do it and it's hadeeth 9a7ee7 .. and for who has his mind working right and who doesnt neglect these things will follow the hadeeth, if you see KSA mashayikhs , most of them if not ALL are saying it's required to have the beard and we (men) should not shave ..
Allah yehdeena o jamee3 el muslemeeen ..
i will add an audio clip for Sheikh Saleh el Fuzaz who's known in KSA, u will hear a nice fatwa from him and it was funny! :)
I typed his last name wrong .. it's Al Fuzan* ..
Sorry
it should be as long as قبضة يد right?
sorry brother but some men.. they don't care about their beards.. I mean their beards are very messy.. how come?
about that, it was not done by el rasool 3alaih el 9alat wal Salaaam or any one of his 9a7aabah ..
that was done by Ibn Omar and Abu Hurayra ra'6eya Allahu 3an-homa .. but WhatAl9a7aba who were closer to the prophet Salla Allahu 3alayeh wa Sallam did the opposite, they kept it even for more than that
al rasool 3alayh el 9alat wal Salam's beard as it was mentioned, it was so big and thick
:)
The man can keep his beard not messy even if it's big
Yzak ALlah khair brother for clarifying things..
ومنكم نستفيد
Wa eyaakom ..
but even if some one kept it as long as Qab'6at al yad, it would be better than nothing ..
and Some ppl, their beards are already not that thick and long even if they dont take from it, it doesn't reach more than qab'6at al yad :)
Yezak Allah 5air brother =)
Nice topic... Plus that, beardless men, sorry to say it, but I don't c a difference between them and ladies *e7em*...
asalamu alaykum...
Once a sheikh was speaking to one of the brothers who regularly attend the mosque, the sheik asked the brother why doesn't grow a beard, the brother replied my beard is in my heart (meaning it is about iman not looks)
and so the sheikh replied.....You must have a hairy chest then!
:)
ms.rosie ..
Barak Allah feekom ..
